Village Customs

The bonfire crackled as she told old folk tales of strange and wondrous things, and the children's eyes shone like stars. The wind lingered at the hem of her dress, as if it was listening too. Then she heard a sudden "coo," looked up, and winked with a smile at the unnoticed listener.
